Think a wine tasting party has to be a stuffy affair? Not at all! The following are a few suggestions on how you can host a fun & casual wine tasting party of your own.
- Pick a Theme. Whether it’s finding a fantastic Pinot Noir in the under $20 price range, or testing various vintages of a particular varietal by the same producer, wine tasting parties always work best when there is a clear cut plan. If guests are providing the wines for the evening, make sure to give them instructions as to the theme and what they should be looking for. If you are providing the wine for your guests…well…you have some lucky guests!
- Provide Munchies. You don’t have to cook a full meal, but make sure to provide your guests with some food if they are going to be drinking all that wine. Pick a few nice cheeses, some bread or unsalted crackers to cleanse palates, and be sure to offer plenty of water.
- Have Pens & Paper Available. You could have something as involved as tasting cards, or something as simple as notecards so guests can jot down their favorites.
