Wine can be made from all kinds of fruits. Even just different varieties of grape can make a startling difference in the taste of the wine. So imagine a wine made from pineapple. Wine is a very fluid thing than can be sweet or dry and woody or fruity or even a mixture. The fruit used to make the wine has just as much of an influence on what you taste as how it is made into the wine. Aged wines obviously taste different than fresher ones.
Subtle differences like these can make a huge difference in taste even within the same type of grape. Try this with some friends; get different wines made from the same type of grape and have a bit of a tasting. With the same grape you can have a rose and a simple red, and an aged version. You will even be able to see the difference in them while they sitting in the wine decanters. And that is just the variety available in one kind of grape! Wine is a miraculous thing full of variety and flavor. Wine can be made in different ways from the same fruit, or can be made from a unique and wonderful fruit like pineapple.
