As we get further into the holiday season we all will be attending more parties and gatherings with family and friends. During many of these festive events wine will be served to enjoy with the conversation and appetizers. For many red wines are popular to serve and this creates a perfect storm with the white linens and white clothes combined with many guests packed into the area.
The chances are a spill will occur and red wine is notorious for staining fabrics in a way that will always be remembered. But it does not have to be this way the red wine does not have to stain good white linens since it can be removed if done quickly and correctly.
As soon as the spill occurs blot it, do not rub, with water to remove the excess without smearing.
Once the excess is removed then use white wine on the stain. White wines will neutralize the staining properties of red wines making them ideal for keeping stains from setting in permanently.
So whether you are the guest who has brought along a quality red wine in one of the many wine totes available or the host serving your guests, be prepared for spills to keep fabrics looking new.
