It seems that each month another health study is done finding yet another health benefit to drinking red wine in moderation. It seems there is nothing that a glass of red wine a day cannot do for the body while overindulgence is the only potential negative to it.
A new study has emerged now showing that red wine such as Bordeaux can prevent diseases that can lead to blindness. The resveratrol found in the grapes used in making red wine can stop the uncontrollable growth in blood vessels in the eye which can lead to blindness.
Published in the July edition of the American Journal of Pathology this study has shown that diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration can be not only controlled but even prevented in high risk patients with resveratrol. For many diabetics and elderly the idea of losing your site and therefore their current quality of life is something they want to prevent at all costs.
This new study shows that preventing blindness can be as simple as filling those bordeaux wine glasses with a classic red wine and enjoying just a little each day. This will benefit not just eyes but many other parts of the body as well.
