With more people becoming wine enthusiast with the benefits that consumption has to the body it is getting easier for the old norms to be broken. For those who have been into wine for some time breaking certain rules of its use is just too taboo to do. But for these new consumers who do not necessarily know these rules breaking them is easy.
Anyone who has attended a dinner where several courses of food and wine are served will know that both the food and the wine start off light and make their way to heavier tastes just before dessert. Therefore sparkling wines and white wines are served with the appetizers and salads while heavier red wines are served from wine decanters with later courses.
But many new wine lovers are finding combinations of food and wine that goes outside this traditional routine. Many are finding that red wines can come earlier and be enjoyed with other foods. While others are serving the main course followed by the salad. While some traditional wine enthusiasts may not appreciate these changes there are many who are beginning to see that wine can be as versatile as you want it to be at your dinner party.
