One of the fun things of summer is the longer days, and what better to do with more time than host a wine tasting. It may seem a bit intimidating to host a wine tasting in your own home but really a little planning ahead can make it a snap. The bare minimum of what you need for a wine tasting is one glass per guest, proper rinsing areas, some bread and cheese or other snacks, and of course a selection of wines.
That doesn’t sound too hard right? It’s not, especially since a good rinsing area could be as simple as your kitchen sink. As far as the selection of wines goes, just have fun. You don’t have to impress your friends with expensive vintages. In fact, if you’ve found an affordable wine that you love than this could be a perfect time to get others to see its merits too. Offer your guests pen and paper so they can jot down notes and remember their favorite, and you have a wonderfully no fuss wine tasting. Offer a wooden cheese board laden with edibles and you’re bound to have a party that’s memorable for its simplicity and charm. So now instead of stressing out about the details, you can spend the time socializing, and isn’t that what you plan gatherings like this for?
