Among wine consumers, Hispanics have had the greatest increase in consumption over all other ethnic groups, and yet when it comes to winemakers there are still only few in the industry. But there has been a rise as more and more Hispanics are taking the skills they have learned over the years working at other vineyards and have begun to start small vineyards on their own.
These small Hispanic owned vineyards produce fewer bottles of wine and are joining together to market their products to Hispanics who are proud of their culture and are willing to pay a fair amount for a quality product. Of course that does not mean you have to be Hispanic to enjoy these fine wines that are coming out of vineyards all across the country.
A good resource to start finding one of these Hispanic run vineyards is the Hispanic Vintners Association, a marketing group just for these producers. They can help you find a winery that produces your favorites so that you can try a bottle of wine that will surely please, while also being a perfect combination to serve alongside that Brie cheese board to impress your guests at your next gathering.
