Getting The Most From Your Wine Tasting Event

September 24, 2010 By Rhino Wino Leave a Comment

For the beginner at a wine tasting, the amount of wines available to try can be overwhelming making it hard to pick out those you do like from those you do not. It is important to remember basic wine tasting tips in order to get the most out of the day and come home with a Sunset Deluxe Wine Carrier full of new favorites.
While tasting the wine, spitting not swallowing will allow you to get more out of each sip on the first round around the venue. Take the time to check wine color, smell the bouquet, and swish the wine around in your mouth before politely spitting it out. In taking too much alcohol can not only go to your head but it can also decrease the effectiveness of your taste buds. So limiting your intake will allow you to try more wines to find potential new favorites.

While tasting the wines available take notes on which ones appealed to you and then head back to try them again. On the second trip back actual swallow the sip this time and continue to evaluate if this wine is one you want to enjoy again at home with friends. With this approach you can get the most out of your day and sample wine like a pro.
