While many Americans are becoming more concerned with exactly what they are putting into their bodies many are turning to local resources for the food they place on their table. With more scares coming each and every year with people getting sick and even dying from chemicals and problems with mass produced foods many are wanting choices that are not commercially grown for maximum profit.
Of course many of these same people do not stop and think about the wine they are serving with their meal and buy what is available on the shelves of the local wine store. Of course many wineries are trying to go green but it is hard to know for sure when they are far away.
Many areas now have local wineries that are producing small runs of wine that tastes amazing but are grown in a way that has them less susceptible to some of the problems some large scale operations have. Wine lovers should explore their region for top wineries making excellent wines and in many cases they will even discover local cheese makers as well. Eat locally can extend to more than just the table but to the table wine as well as the snacks served on the pinwheel cheese board.
