The apes and monkeys of a Budapest zoo are regular red wine drinkers, officials of the zoo say.
Red table wine is administered in small doses, mixed with the animals tea, and is intended to boost the apes’ red blood cells. "Obviously, they do not have it all at once and get drunk", says a spokesperson for the zoo. The 11 anthropoid apes reportedly go through 55 litres of the wine every year.
Sounds like our kind of zoo!
