While it is never good to get stuck in a rut and ignore new things in favor or what is familiar, it is still a good idea to have a few favorite wines. Not only does having a favorite or two ensure that you never go without a good wine in your home but in the search for your favorite you may just try a few new wines. No one can deny the good in trying new things. A good way to try these wines is to attend a few wine tastings; they can be a friend’s, a vineyard’s or even can be at a local wine store. If you find a wine that you like than fill your four bottle wine tote 
with it.
Few people are willing to buy more than two or three of a wine, even one they like. Even though having a good supply of excellent wines is a good thing to have. Think about all the situations where it would be nice to have a reliably good wine already in your house. If you get the urge to make a nice dinner, you already have a wine to go with it. This isn’t being stuck on the old, it’s just having a favorite.
